- Taita in Arabic means grandmother and my grandmother belongs to this group of taitas that spend their life cooking, nurturing and loving their children, grand children and beyond.... I am sure it's a near universal phenomenon this taita thing. As for myself, I am a music teacher by education and profession. However my students never left a piano lesson without a slice of cake or without testing my food! Poor things! So the cook in me had to come out. This love for food compelled me to produce, direct and present a food and culture documentary about Jordan for Al Jazeera channel. I plan to do a second documentary, but not just yet as I am expecting my first Baby this july.
